How do you get rid of razor bumps on the thighs quickly?

I've been having razor bumps on my thighs for a while now and I've been washing my legs and nothing is happening. I would love to have soft skin on my thighs.|||You could maybe try body exfoliator and moisturizer.

Aveeno makes really nice and gentle moisturizers and exfoliater.

How can i get rid of razor burn on my legs?

After I shave my legs I get really bad razor burn, I lotion them every night with Avon's Skin So Soft. But that's not working!|||When you shave your legs, make sure to use shaving cream, or soap!

don't use a 1-2 blade razor, they're usually made cheap, and since there's only 2 blades, it would mean you would to go over the spot more frequently. Choose a 3-5 one, shaves the hair in just one stroke. Once you're done, rinse off the remaining shaving cream/soap dry them and put a good moisturizing lotion. try nivea deep mosturizer. its' really good. or even a lotion by vaseline, i use the one with cocoa butter in it. it smells like chocolate and it makes your skin glow !

hope i helped!|||asked my wife and she said, change the razor, i do not know of ocurse what you are using now, but most of the time the cause of razor burn is a blunt blade. might that be from a normal handheld razor or one of these 'lady shaves' and make sure no one is using it for anything else....|||hand sanitizer and after Shave weird but it works in about ten hours

How can you get rid of razor burn from the bikini area?

How can you get rid of razor burn from bikini area? I always seem to get irritated down there.|||There is a great product called Bikini Zone that I get at Wal-Mart or the drug store and they sell it in the Shaving Cream/Nair area. They have a shave gel also made by Bikini Zone that is really super moisturizing and slippery that keeps you from getting the razor bumps and burn. The Bikini Zone gel and cream numb the area a little and help the irritation go away fast. They're not expensive at all and they work really well for sensitive skin!

Make sure you're waiting for the hair in the area to be totally soaked with water to soften it, and use something really moisturizing not just soap when you shave and that will help you prevent getting it at all. Hope it helps! Good Luck!!|||I have had the same problem for years (my mother is German) I have found the best thing in the world for me is the Mary Kay satin hands. You can use it on the body too it softens and exfoliates and is great for shaving. It also slows down hair growth which is a plus. use a body lotion no hand lotion

|||use original shaving sticks|||I don't know about getting rid of it, but to prevent it, I have heard that AVEENO shaving gel works well. Make sure the area is very very warm and wet to open the pores to get a closer shave. Shave in the direction the hair grows.|||You can try hydrocortizone or desitine (for a babies diaper rash)|||Don't use a razor, I am looking to lasers so I do not have scaring from ingrown hairs. I find wearing no underware and trimming with scissors or bleaching the hair works best. I had no sucess-shaving the hair in opposite direction, waxing, special creams, gels, lotions, deoderant, powder, alcohol.|||Shave in the shower with a new razor. The bumps are caused by ingrown hairs, so maybe try to use an exfolient first. Also, use shaving cream...

http://magazines.ivillage.com/marieclair鈥?/a>|||I have the same problem. I use tube after tube after tube of Bikini Zone. That stuff works pretty well. I've also put zit cream or hydrocortizone cream there when I've run out of the other stuff. The best, but most painful, thing I've done is use an epilator. That works best if you have prescription painkillers to take an hour before. But I don't recommend downing pills!

I'm dying to try out laser hair removal. Its just so expensive...|||I know what you mean! Waxing works, but it is so very painful. Sorry. Or you can try tend skin lotion to get rid of the bumps. I like LUSH's dream cream myself.|||I know it sounds crazy, but if u use Dove deodorant in that area it leaves it smooth and for whatever reason u don't get bumps...it also works for heat bumps on y our butt,,,,,,,,NO LIE!|||Let me massage it with fine oils.

How can you get rid of razor burn for underarms?

How often should you change your razor blade?

How often should you get a new razor if you shave your armpits with it every other day, and your pubis once a week?|||I change my razor every 2 weeks. It's really unsanitary to keep them longer. Is there a good inexpensive product to help with razor bumps in the bakini area?

I do not usually like to wax, but occasionally i do. But when i usually resort to shaving, i use a shaving creme with moisturizers and aloe vera to help keep skin smooth and irritated and such. But as all us girls know that sometimes razor bumps occur. Is there a good inexpensive product to help with razor bumps in the bakini area? Thank you!|||Use Bee Luscious Shaving Cream for Women. Most shaving cream is just soap with different scents added, that is why it foams. Bee Luscious shave cream is not soap so it don't foam. What it is, is a moisturizer with a medication to prevent razor burn, bumps and ingrown hairs. It also softens the hair so your razor will glide through nice and easy, preventing irritation. Wash your legs as normal and apply the cream. Then shave normally. You will need to rinse your blade a little more often but the results are super soft and smooth legs. It works well on the bikini area too. I know, how could I know this? Well, I am married and my wife loves it and I love how soft she feels after using it. Search Google for it.|||Bakini Zone!!!! It works!!!|||Valtrex, Zovirax and Famvir

I used to have the same problem and fixed it right up with this 2 step method. Everytime you shower use a glycolic or salycilic facial scrub on your bikini area. The reason for the shave bumps is lack of exfoliation and also bacteria in the hair folicle. The other step is to use tea tree oil to kill the bacteria. You can find tea tree oil at Trader Joe's or any health food store. Good luck!|||Instead of shaving have a hot wax done. No more razor burns. Hope this helped.|||I have never waxed the bikini area, but others have said that it can be less painful than razor burn. I personally use soap and warm water while in the shower and afterwards use Curel hand/body moisturizer, original formula (Not unscented as it doesn't have a pleasant odor :) It really calms my skin.|||Try using Tend Skin. Make sure you use it on dry skin, though. It stops the itching immediatly, and the razor bumps are gone in about 12 hrs. (or at least that's what happened for me.)

How do I get ringtones on a sprint razor phone?

What are the advantages of using a Electronic Razor in Comparison to a Disposable razor?

I'm thinking of buying an Electronic Razor, and I don't want to be ripped off.|||electrics usually only work on thin hair, or if you have heavy hair, but just want to touch it up. some guys have to shave in the morning, and again at night. if you wanted to look clean shaven at work, an electric razor would give an easy shave.|||I went back to disposables...I just didn't get a good close shave with an electric.|||i just bought one they work really good.|||it probably depends on the make or design if the razor!!............|||Electronic razors don't draw any blood. The shave isn't quite as close so you need to shave twice a day with an electronic razor. Your face take some time to get used to an electric, so give it a week or two.|||It's just personal preference.

How do you prevent getting razor bumps after you shave?

How do you prevent getting razor bumps after you shave? Especially in the bikini line area.|||after you shave, rub Johnson Baby Oil Gel on|||people say use shaving cream, even when i used alot i got so many. but i learned it was from cheap razors. so spend some money on a good razor for 10 bucks the most. i stopped getting bumps, because the cheap ones cause them.|||I read in a magazine and it said to go down with the grain of hair instead of against.....|||Yeah, shaving in the opposite direction of hair growth causes irritation, even though it sometimes feels smoother that way -- in a few days, the bumps will come!

I always make sure I very lightly (and gently) exfoliate after shaving, then exfoliate harder as the hair starts to grow; ingrown hairs have no way to get out of the skin, and getting rid of as much dead skin as you can will help prevent them.

Give waxing a shot. Even if you only do it one time, your hair will be easier to shave when it grows back.|||It's always best to shave in a shower, perferaly a warm one since it opens up your pores and makes for a much smoother shave. It also helps to lather on liquid soap and use that instead of a shaving cream. You can also use conditioner, which makes your legs extra silkey :) Razor burns are mostly caused by shaving dry, so try to avoid that at all cause.

And if you do get razor burns, wait atleast 15 minutes before lathering on unscented lotion. It will help ease the burn. But don't use scented lotion because you'll only make the burning sensation worse and last longer. Hope this helped :)

How many ages does a Razor blade has to be changed?

I ment like a tooth brush except it's a razor. Do you ment all razors? I ment all razors? Do they have to changed including the female type? Please answer and thank you!|||you sure have to change the blade after using it for a while.. the sharpness decreases as it is used... it totally depends on the usage... some blades you can tell by just looking at them 'coz they dont shine like new ones... but it is easier to makesure if you touch them ot use them....

a new blade acts smoother on the skin... an old one.. you will have to use it twice in the same place and so it acts rough on your skin.. when the whole area is not cleaned properly the first time you use.. then its time to change the blade for the razor...

hope this helps you...

gud luck :)|||your question confuses me. But i think you should change out you razor blades once they feel dull or at least once a month.|||I use the Venus and it says on the back of the box your supposed to replace the blade after about 10 uses.....

Hope I Helped!=]|||once the blade begins to dull

like if you have to press hard to shave its def. time to change|||if you are just using it on yourself, then when it`s blunt, but if your using it on different people, then every time because of cross infection

What are the ways of hygienically cleaning disposable razor blades?

I have a gillete disposable razor, what methods are there in cleaning the razor blades after use?|||swish the razor around in rubbing alcohol. that should kill any bacteria on it.

What is the best shaving razor for women?

I need to buy a shaving razor but I don't know which one is good. I've been using the regular gillete but that's not working so well. What shaving razors would you recommend? I mean to shave like leg and underarm hair?

btw, are schik razors good? my mom uses one of those and it has two blades.|||I reccomend the Venus Embrace. I have a LOT of trouble finding a good razor - I had trouble with Gillete too. Once I tried the Venus, my legs and under arms were the smoothest they've been in MONTHS.. aka I could actually SKIP a day! Definitely check it out - plus there's satisfaction guaranteed, so what's to lose?!|||i like venus razors for my legs, and the schick ones for my underarms. i don't know but the schick ones don't work as well on my legs! the venus ones and really great for legs though. i hope this helped!!|||Schick is awesome, it has these little wires around the blades that make it virtually fool proof. I've never cut myself with them.|||I LOVE the schick intuition. no separate shave gel required. |||venus embrace is really good.

its smooth and it has these two gel strips that smooth your skin as you shave|||venus|||i use mens gillete, it is amazing!|||i think venus breeze

How do I prevent or get rid of razor burn?

I always get razor burn and some ingrown hairs on the backs and inside of my thighs and on the side of my bikini line. To be honest, it gets itchy and I scratch at it so that doesn't help but even when I don't scratch I still get the burn and ingrown hairs. I am always sure to use a good Venus razor bc it has the moursturizing strip and I use sensitive skin Aveeno shaving cream. I still don't know what to do! Help?|||Try using the creams like Nair instead of shaving. I find that it lasts 3-4 weeks without having to do it over and over. And. finally, the awful smell is gone!|||Keep the Aveeno shaving cream, but ditch the venus razor.

Go for a man's razor, such as the Gillette Fusion Power (vibrating kind). Men's razors are the sharpest and prevent razor burn really well.

My older sister uses the Mach 3 and swears by it, but I like the Fusion Power. My boyfriend uses the Fusion that doesn't vibrate, but when he borrowed my razor last week, he definitely liked the vibrating one A LOT better. It was a closer shave.

I also like the vibrating one because it numbs the skin when you shave in delicate areas (arm pits, bikini).

Don't get me wrong, you might still get razor burn the next day, but with a men's razor you will have NO bumps for the first day you shaved. When I used the Venus or Quattro, I got bumps within a few hours.

And as always, if you shave your bikini zone, you are granted to have some itching by the 3rd day :)|||I find that sometimes, even with Nair, I still get razorbrun on the bikini line after a day or so. My best advice would be to moisturize, and that night, even though it may seem gross, sleep without underwear on. The rubbing of the underwar against your skin actually irritates it and encourages razorburn in the bikini area.|||Try shaving after you have had a warm bath or shower.

Use a loofah or rough cloth on your legs to remove dead

skin before shaving. Use a clean sharp razor. Moisturise lots

and keep using the loofah daily as this will stop the hairs from becoming ingrown. If you still have a problem I would suggest you try waxing instead.|||use skintimate when you shave. Razor protection. It comes in yummy flavas. Or you could use the Nair soothing wax kit. Because some people have very sesitive skin and nair makes it worse!!|||try waxing or nair... anything but shaving|||Aloe Vera Gel is good for razor burn

How to get rid of razor bumps extremely fast?

I have razor bumps on my legs. It's reeeally bad. What can I do to get rid of razor burn on my legs?

Everytime I shave my legs, I get the WORST razor burn, it seriously looks like I have been attacked by little bugs that eat me or something. It's gross. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop or get rid of Razor burn? I mean I've tried Nair, but I'm like allergic to the stuff, I get a rash on my legs and no hair comes off.|||-Use aloe vera or tea tree oil creams and sprays. They will speed up your recovery and soothe that raw feeling that accompanies razor burn.

-Shave carefully until it heals, switch to a razor with a single-blade or wire guard for a while. The shave won't be close, but you won't be slicing your skin up before it can heal either. (Learn how to get rid of -razor bumps)

DO NOT:

-Use any products containing alcohol - it will dry out your skin and increase irritation.

Scrub or scratch razor burned skin. It will increase irritation and the risk of infection.

-Apply colognes or perfumes to razor burned skin

What is a great way to wax your pubic area, and not get razor bumps?

It's very annoying to shave it, and I always get razor bumps. I want to try waxing, so I need tips, or I need to know how to do it at home, because I will not go to get it done. I need tips on how to wax without getting razor bumps. Or shave without razor bumps! I need suggestions on shaving or waxing without getting razor bumps.|||if you shave too often then yes you will get razor bumps. they have things like nair for bikini areas, but those never seem to work, they leave more rashes and bumps then smooth. I would say try different waxes on certain areas and see the way your skin reacts to different formulas. or u can try and get an epilator, its a machine that pulls out the hair like a thousaund tweezers, but looks like an electrical shaver. they can be pretty expensive tho, mine cost me about 80|||Waxing is so much effort compared to shaving and I hardly get the time to do it anymore, but its so much nicer afterwards. II use ready wax strips and cut them in small cut strips and wax the hair off bit by bit. Don't try to wax loads off in one go because its painful and doesn't work as well. It will end up leaving hairs behind. Its quite painful to begin with if you haven't done it before, but I got used to the pain after a while.

What is the best razor for shaving legs?

I have tried a few different razors, but they give me razor burn, especially the throw away kind. The worst I've found so far are the 2 blade razors that are disposable. I'm guessing the 1 blade razors are the very worst. Anyone have an idea on a Nice razor I can use daily? at this point I get so much razor burn and in grown hairs I only shave my legs every other day, or every three days. Disgusting ;-) but impossible to shave more, due to the red dots and stuff.|||Invest in a Gilette venus 5 blade razor, most of them have moisture built into the blades. A great way to avoid in grown hairs and razor burn is to exfoliate before shaving, with either a body brush or a scrub

:)|||VENUS! VENUS VENUS VENUS %26lt;3 I've heard men's razors are really good as well but they're a bit more pricey as they're usually for facial hairs. + The blades are more expensive.

And sometimes it isn't about the razor. Slather on the shaving lubricant! It really helps. And if you don't have a lubricant, they are a little pricey, use hair conditioner instead. :) And after a shave, use aloe vera on your legs. I'm sure they sell aloe vera in a bottle or a tube at your nearby pharmacy. It works wonders.|||I've tried three different types of the venus razors and they're all great. The great thing about the venus razors is that you can put any of the blades on any of the handles so you can try all the different kinds but not have to buy the whole new razor.|||i am really sorry that i can not answer your question, but i am very happy to invite you this site:www.sneakers4world.com,they retail nike air jordan, brand handbag with wholesale price.best quality with so amazing price.they are on the promotion now.free gift%26amp;sample order accepted.even can get free shoes if you invite your friend to their site.|||I love the venus. I never had a problem with that razor. It gives the best shave and the results make you feel nice and smooth. You can get them at any retail store.|||Venus Breeze or Venus Spa Breeze are defiantly the best! If you don't have a lot of $$ to spare, just buy the regular venus blades. These are very expensive though. Only problem with shaving. :)|||Either Venus razors or MENS razors, I find that they make MENS razors to work better and last longer, as if they're sharper to go against a tougher set of hair.|||I like Venus Embrace with Skintamate Shave Gel

When was the very first razor invented ie to shave a mans face?

I don't mean a safety razor. I mean any sort of implement that was used to remove hair from a mans face ?|||In the bronze age. The Greeks would use bronze razors to shave.|||a long time ago...not as long as the greeks though man!|||I believe it was somewhere back in the new Stone Age or may be the Old Stone Age when the people began to use something.

How can I shave my underarms without getting razor burn?

I do everything correctly, I use a new or semi-new razor everytime, and I use shaving cream. But everytime I shave I either don't get all the hair off, or I get razor burn.|||I would try using a very good razor and I would consult a dermatologist about what to use as a lubricant. It sounds as if you are pressing too hard on your skin. A very good razor would allow you to shave without pressing too hard. I would also try not using shaving cream, which may be irritating the area. Try using a body wash. Good luck.|||Some people say stretch out the skin so that it is as tight as possible and other say that conditioning that area well is all you need. But maybe you should change you mindset all together and stop shaving. Maybe save your summer money for laser hair removal, permanent!|||try using a little Neosporen before shaving...it helps bring the hairs all the way to the surface for a closer shave.|||Alls I can say for me if I use the good razors (name brand) I don't get razor burn........Good Luck............|||i found that if you just shave in one direction, like I start at the bottom and shave up, if I do from top to bottom I break out.... try that|||use nair or some other hair removal product avoid wax because if u keep getting razor burn your skin is probably to sensitive.....|||Its probably the shaving cream...Our underarms are sensitive so you should probably try using a mild soap to shave under your arms instead of shaving cream.

How to get rid of razor bumps on your vagina?

When I shave down there, I get razor bumps and I don't like them (obviously) and they look gross. I want them to go away fast with some home remedies or something. Can you help?|||Begin waxing ... No more Razor bumps!!!|||They should eventually go away on there own. There is some numbing cream you can buy over the counter called Bikini Zone that helps. The red bumps are probably just ingrown hairs or razor burn.|||I agree with the waxing option. It helps for soother skin down there as well.|||Thats pretty f**king gross .Buttt lotion|||i get the same things... and im a swimmer so i have to be in my swimsuit with them. Its nastyyy.

How much does a disposable razor blade cost to make?

I've looked and looked, but no one (except the razor companies) seems to know how much they cost to make. I know they cost a lot to buy!|||The variable direct cost is probably very low, maybe only a few cents per unit. The material cost is probably less than a nickel. but when you consider the equipment and factory required to do the work, the total cost is considerably higher. Of course the margin on the razors is also very high. That's typical for these kinds of products.

I once learned that it cost about 1/2 cent to make a pack of cigarettes. That was long ago, so now it probably costs a whole cent. Clearly there is little relationship between the manufacturing cost of razors and their selling price.

How to Shave With a Razor and Shaving Cream?

I realize how dumb I sound, but I have never shaved using a regular razor before. I've always been too scared to get cut. Now, though, after trying other things, I'd like to try shaving with a razor (using shaving cream, of course!) So what's a good, safe method to shave using a razor?|||Hm, well to be honest at first I was afraid I'd get cut, too! lol! (I'm 16 now) but yeah. Um, I don't think you should be scared! It's not like you're going to force the razor onto your leg. Just shave slowly or just ask your mom to help you or show you how. =P

Maybe you could even find videos on shaving on youtube.com haha I love that site and it has the best tutorials. :) Tried my best to help! Don't be scared! :D|||well , first put the shaving cream on the spot you would like to shave , and then take the razor , and just like you would hold a pencil , hold the razor . then go slowly in the area

lol , soo stupid

How could I get my Razor Pocket Mod to run on a electric generator and what kind?

I recently purchased a Razor Pocket Mod and want to ride longer and maybe travel some where. I was thinking I could use a electric generator. I don't know if that would work or what type of generator.|||Unfortunately, it takes much more energy to generate the electric power to run your razor than a generator can produce while riding on it. I would suggest investing in larger/longer lasting batteries, or replace your existing motor with a gas power one.|||Yeah, I agree with Geoff. This Razor is not for long ride. This Razor Pocket Mod is suitable for kids or children who wants to learn how to drive a motorcycle or scooter. What's a good razor and tips on shaving your private areas?

I cannot stand hair down there, it's very uncomfortable for me,but everytime I shave I get these disturbing razor bumps, and I cannot go waxing.

Does anyone have good tips and advice on successful shaving their private areas?|||Head for the drug store to buy:

* One of those new razors with the electric trimmer in the handle.

* "Bikini Zone" shave gel (anti-bump)

* Bikini area lotion or un-scented hand lotion

Use the trimmer to remove as much hair as possible. Then take a hot shower or bath to soften the hairs.

Use the extra-thick shave gel (not soap). If you cannot find "Bikini Zone" or "Coochie Cream" - get a tube of Neosporin ointment. (Yes - the first aid stuff).

Smooth the skin with one hand and shave with the other.

After shaving put on lotion. Repeat after 12 and 24 hours.

These steps will dramatically reduce razor burn.

Hope it helps.|||The easiest way of course is to trim. It's actually sexier for some men than a completely clean vagina. Trim your hair a bit for that natural look that won't disturb your partner and it would be easy for you to manage it on a regular basis. Shaving is a good option too, for those who prefer the clean look. But the only problem with shaving it on a regular basis is that if you miss even two days in a go, it pricks the surrounded skin like hell, making you itchy and uncomfortable.

The very popular option to waxing is using the hair removal creams. In case you are using hair-removing creams, be very sure of the brand that you are using. Otherwise it's safe and completely painless. You can also go in for depilators, which are a relatively painful of the options mentioned till now.|||any expensive razor will do really like

venus don't get cheap like asda smart price ones

like 10 in a bad for 1 pound because they scratch

and when you shave down their apply loads of soap first

and then when you shave if you get red bumps and it itches

which is a shaving rash apply any baby bottom cream it helps

take it away like sudour cream for example

also when you shave...shave down when you do the top of your vagina

as if you do it up it pulls hairs|||My girlfriend tried my razor (gillette Fusion) one time and said she likes it more than any razor for women she has tried. I would suggest try using Gillette, one that is designed for men like the fusion. She loves it.

How do you shave closer with an electric razor?

How do you shave closer with an electric razor? I doesn't seem like it shaves close enough. Are there any special tricks to get a better shave? (Besides getting a non-electric razor)|||Honestly, the best way to get a very close shave is to use a traditional razor.

Good Luck! :)|||I've been shaving w/Norelco Rotary Blade Electric shavers for more than 30 years. I usually buy a new one every 5 years.

I apply rubbing alcohol to my face %26amp; neck %26amp; let it dry - just prior to shaving. This makes the whiskers stand up straighter for a closer, smoother shave.

Also - as you shave - move the razor around your face %26amp; neck in circular motions so it will clip all those wild whiskers that have a mind of their own.

After shaving - I apply a light coating of Vitamin E Oil to moisturize the skin %26amp; promote healing.

How long does it take to grow a razor cut out?

I recently got a haircut and I am waiting for it to grow out because the razor cut she gave me makes my hair really frizzy. How long does it take for a retarded razor cut to grow out, or at least go back to normal?|||hair grows 1/2 inch each month.

How do you clear up razor bumps near the bikini line?

I shaved my bikini line and now I have razor bumps how do I get rid of them?|||Do NOT shave against the grain of your hair! That is going to give you way more problems. To help clear them up, use a warm compress on them whenever you can. That will keep the pores and hair follicles open so the hairs don't get trapped under your skin and cause ingrowns. In my opinion, waxing is way better than shaving for the bikini area. I always got HORRIBLE razor bumps and ingrowns when I used to shave. The hair in that area is more coarse than other parts of your body, and when you shave you cut it off in the middle, so when it grows back in, it can be harder for it to get through the skin like it is supposed to. What's the difference between a disposable and regular razor?

How long does one last versus the other? I've always used a razor with the replaceable cartridges, but I ran out of fresh ones and ended up buying a shave creme that included a disposable razor. How long should it last for? I shave every day: underarms, legs, and pelvis. I know my old way of buying razors got very spendy, and you can buy large bags of the same brand, but disposable, for a bit cheaper. What's the more economical way to go?|||I used disposable razors for a while and then switched to the kind where you just replace the razor. It didn't work as good for me. Plus it cost more. Disposable razors are the way to go economically. You get a nice size amount and when your done you just pop it in the trash and pick a fresh one!!! Plus you won't feel obligated to use the razor until it's completely dull since you didn't spend an arm and a leg lol:)|||i get disposable mens razors. they're usually better than womens razors and it is a bit cheaper. the problem is that they tend to rust faster and the gel strip doesn't always hold up as well. but i still prefer the disposable ones since they shave just as close.

I wore a beard and mustache for the last 20 years, now I'm shaving again. Back then, the big thing was a razor with two blades - now they're up to 4. I way out of touch.

So how do you know when it is time to toss the blade in your razor (or your disposable razor) and use a new one? How long do you go between?

Do the extra blades on the razor make a difference for you? I can buy a dozen one-blade disposables for the cost of 4-blade titanium cartridge, and it is hard to see how the expensive cartridge is worth the difference. What's your experience?|||I'm a woman, but this time of year I shave a lot. I'm of Italian descent so I also have a lot to get rid of. I change my blade when I notice I'm not getting a close shave anymore, or when it seems to grow out too quickly, like I'm getting nubs by the end of the day, or by the next morning.

Women's razors and men's are a lot different so I can't help you with the number of blades and so on. My husband uses an electric most days, and my 18 year old son doesn't shave at all, just lets it grow.

I do think you get what you pay for. The disposables are not going to last as well as the better quality ones, though they are good for travel. You may also find that the better ones will be easier on your skin. That's the case with women's razors anyway.

Good luck!|||change it when it is blunt|||Personally, I don't like disposables. I pay the expensive price for blade refills but they last a few shavings (3 about)

How do I stop razor burn after shaving?

I get bad razor burn each time I shave especially by my "bikini line" and my stomich. Then apply a shaving cream. Use razor with lubricating strips. Shave it gently and carefully. Wash areas with facial soaps which is not harsh to the skin. How do I prevent razor burn when shaving my legs?

Also shaving downwards instead of upwards will help as well.|||soak in warm water for awhile then always use shaving cream, even men's it has lotions in it that help.. Be careful not to push to hard|||Here are some things that I have found that help:

1. make sure your razor is clean and fresh. Dull razors, I have found, are the biggest culprit for razor burn, bumps, etc. Spend a little extra for a nice razor. I love the one my b/f uses and ended up getting one for myself - the FUSION one with 5 blades and uses a battery to help for a smoother shave. I think anything less than 3-4 blades isn't worth it.

2. Use a good shaving gel - for sensitive skin. The reason you may be having the breakouts is because your skin tends to be sensitive to any soap or other gel you're currently using to shave.

3. I don't exfoliate my skin before I shave. Too harsh.

4. I have started to use TEND SKIN - a topical liquid you apply directly to the razor burn/bumps and ingrown hairs. It can be a bit pricey, but worth it. What is the best way to prevent razor burn, ingrown hairs, and irritation on super sensitive legs?

My skin is really really sensitive. When I was younger shaving would cause me to get lots of infected hair follicules which looked like large zits. Now I've learned to manage it a little better. I use a razor for sensitive legs, I soak in the tub before I shave, I use Aveeno shave gel that is supposed to prevent inflamation and irritation. No matter what I try my legs still burn and itch when I finish shaving, there are numerous ingrown hairs, and little cuts from my razor (which I try not to reuse). Has anyone found any pre or post shave lotions or products that help? Is there any steps that I could take to keep this from happening? Please help!|||Use a moisturizing soap (e.g. Dove) or shower gel to keep your skin from drying out.

Shave towards the end of a short shower so the hairs are softened. Soaking in a bath can break down the skin's moisture barrier.

I even tried a new Nair product that was a dollar or so cheaper and it works no better than the old Nair stuff.. I will ALWAYS use the Sally Hansen product! Even if it is around $6.00, the price to pay for smooth legs and arms is fine with me..|||i would maybe try soaking in bath milk since that will soothe the skin and try some aloe vera since its very conditioning. i would just try to be insanely careful and gentle while you shave your legs so that theres as little pressure as possible and hopefully there wont be leftover bumps or pain. hope you get it figured out :)|||Prevention; infected hair follicles are due to ingrown hairs . One way to treat is first soak 5-10 minutes in bath, then exfoliate w/neutrogena acne body scrub. Shower off thoroughly. Then apply good moisturinzing shave cream, may wait till next day, gives skin a rest to prevent irrtation. Follow w/sensitive skin 24 hr moisturizing lotion immediately after every bath or shower.|||Sometimes we are in the need of some easy homemade recipes to alleviate the irritation caused by shaving called razor burns, specially men who prefer not to use chemical based products. Here are some home recipes for razor burn. These are safe, though may not work too well for you, it鈥檚 better to try and see what fits you best:

- The Aspirin Paste: Dissolve 2 uncoated aspirins with a small amount of water so you make a paste. Apply the paste on your face and let it rest for some minutes. After that, wash your face with warm water.

- Razor Burn Mask: Mash 2 strawberries with 1 spoon of sour cream, apply for 10 minutes twice a week.

- The Oatmeal Bath: Add Powered Oatmeal to a warm bath and soak for 15 minutes to reduce swelling and itching.

I would say use a regular old razor, lots of shaving cream, and go slowly.|||I assume you're actually shaving your testicles? You might want to buy a depilatory (hair removal) cream instead, it's not sharp and you can get into the creases better. Just make sure you follow the directions on the packet and don't leave it on too long. I wouldn't recommend using your face razor on your privates, the skin downstairs is more delicate than the rougher skin on your face and you don't want any little nicks or cuts on those parts.|||Well those answers were unhelpful. It's a shame that the first responses have been trite and ill considered. C'mon people! This is obviously someone who's really wondering the best way to do it. Let's not ruin his first experience.

Now the problem with coventional razors is that the blades are just too narrow. Pubic hair is quite thick and wiry. It clogs those little razors far too quickly (especially those double, triple, quadruple and quintuple blades!). Additionaly the ball sack is so wrinkly, it's really tough to get a nice, close shave. The only thing worse than an unshaved sack is a stubble sack. Gross!

I've been through all this before, and I'm glad that you can learn from my escapades and hospital attendances. The best and only way to shave your balls is with alcohol and a three foot (at least) samurai sword.

|||First, you'll need to stand in the shower for 10-15 minutes before shaving so that the steam from the hot water can open up pores and soften your skin and the hair, which will allow the razor to glide easier. Next, you'll need a sharp razor...I like to use a men's 3-razor blade razor, which gets close to the skin. After you've waited 10-15 minutes, wash the area with hot water, then apply a generous amount of shaving cream. Then, go ahead and shave slowly in the opposite direction of hair to get the smoothest shave. Some recommend to shave in the same direction that hair grows to prevent bumps, but you won't get a close shave. As long as you wait 10-15 minutes before shaving, you shouldn't have a problem. Learn how to stop irritating your skin and avoid razor bumps with just a few simple steps.

Razor bumps, ingrown hairs, pseudofolliculitis barbae we know they hurt but, why do they appear? It all happens when we shave. While shaving our facial hair gets caught between the follicle or it grows the other way, into the skin. That's what produces the swelling, redness and swelling.

This does not mean you are stuck with razor bumps for life. There are ways to help diminish razor bumps and here in this article we will share these tips with you.

The first step is to use active ingredients. There are tons of men skin care products that claim to alleviate ingrown hairs and razor bumps, but don't rush to conclusions. The truth is that the active ingredient that eliminates razor bumps is Salicylic Acid. What this ingredient does is moisturize, exfoliate and clear you pores thus avoiding any further infections. For even better results use an after shave product that contains salicylic acid and that way it will stay on your skin during the day. The No-No's here is that you should NEVER use products that contain alcohol. Alcohol dries your skin and closes your pore which only worsens your ingrown hairs. Also, do not use foam shaving creams because these also dry your skin. Instead use non-acnegenic shaving creams which are specially made for men with sensitive skin.

Tip number two focuses on how to improve the surface of your skin. Removing the outer layers of your dead skin may sound nasty but to sum it up it's called exfoliating. Men who have ingrown hairs must exfoliate in order to improve the skin's surface. This can easily be done with a gentle face scrub that contains the ingredient we mentioned in the first tip, salicylic acid.

Change is good. And that is why my next tip to you involves you changing the way you shave. By now you should know that shaving too closely is one of the main causes of razor bumps. If you didn't know, well know you know. By shaving too close, your hair stubs will be cut to close to the skin and more prone to getting stuck inside the hair follicle and viola an ingrown hair is born.

A couple of things you can do to avoid shaving too close is first of all not pulling on your skin when you shave. Do not apply too much pressure on the razor blade, shave with the grain and use a single blade razor.

It is crucial you keep this in mind while shaving because if you forget and shave too close the razor bumps will come back to haunt you and it will take a while before you get rid of them again.

What about the ingrown hairs you already have? Now it's time to destroy those little suckers. To get rid of your ingrown hairs you just simple but carefully lift the ingrown end out with tweezers. Warning: Do not pluck them out. Just lift them out of the skin otherwise the ingrown hair will only re-grow deeper. To reduce the redness and swelling you can use products that contain azulene, allantoin and witch hazel. Those ingredients will keep you comfortable.

There you have it, for easy to follow tips to get rid of your razor bumps. All you have to do is take a couple of more minutes of shaving time and remember to keep these tips in mind. I also suffered from razor bumps and aside from it being embarrassing it was painful. However, thanks to these steps I was able to get in control and improve my skin. You can do it too! hard water areas around 3-4 days before going too blunt to be truly good at cutting|||This is hardly arbitrary as beard toughness varies from man to man and how often each shaves. As with any cutting tool, you sharpen it or discard/replace it if it becomes dull. You will know when the blade becomes dull as it will start to 'drag and pull' rather than cut and move smoothly across your face. With Fusion blades it could be as little as two months and as long as four months, if not more, if you have peach fuzz, rather than a coarse, tough beard.|||Every 8weeks!

I always cut myself and get razor burn when shaving? Would an electric razor be good for me?

I always cut myself and get bad razor burn when shaving because I have super sensitive skin and really thick facial hair. I don't really care about having too close of a shave. Would an electric razor work good for me? I have a really bad problem with ingrown hairs. Would the electric razor make them worse? What electric razor would be best too buy? I'd rather not spend a lot of money.|||My husband has the same problem with a heavy beard and sensitive skin. He doesn't like most electric razors, he says they feel like they're pulling the hair out instead of cutting it. He uses the Gillette Mach 3 blades. He says they're much better than the cheap razors. He was at his brothers this summer and had to borrow a razor and his brother just had cheap Bic razors. He said it just tore his face up something fierce

He says it also makes a big difference when he uses a good shaving gel and face lotion. Cheap shaving foam stuff makes it much worse so he uses Neutrogena shaving gel and their mens face lotion when he's done instead of after shave. With these items he doesn't have a problem at all.|||I have the same problem but I chose not to bother spending money on an electric razor/shaver. How do I get rid of razor bumps and ingrown hairs on face?

My incredibly handsome, intelligent, and personable son has been shaving for the past three years. During this time, he has always had unattractive razor bumps which covered his neck and chin. These bumps have caused him to be less outgoing, and I think it is affecting him socially. We've tried many different products and razors, but the problem remains. Please help!|||How often does he shave?

the more often he shaves, the more his face and neck will get used to having an incredibly sharp instrument drawn across it.

Are these bumps ingrown hairs, infected cuts, or just irritation?

Ingrown hairs need to be removed as soon as he sees them, obviously. infected cuts can be taken care of by shaving and immediately washing his face with antibacterial soap and water. irritation is a little harder to deal with because it could be caused by a number of things, but main cures are moisturizing lotions and Aloe Vera lotions.

Lastly, how curly is his hair?

the curlier his hair the likely he is to get ingrown hairs, and the harder they'll be to remove. basically, with curly hair, when he shaves the hair entirely off, when it grows back, it curls right back into the skin. recommend not shaving it all off, just down to about a fraction of an inch. that way, its already out of the skin and cant grow back into it.

Hope this helps, God Bless

How long should I keep my razor blades to avoid necrotizing fasciitis?

I have a Venus razor and the blades hardly ever get dull because my hairs are thin. The blades I have on are probably several months to a year old, but there's no rust on them and they work just fine. But last night I saw this show called "1000 Ways to Die", and this woman cut herself with an old razor blade where a flesh eating virus was growing and it killed her. So how often should I change my blades, or how can I keep them sterile because they're kind of expensive.|||Trust me, you're not going to get a flesh eating virus. Even so, if you want to sterilize them, and you should, just keep them in a cup of rubbing alcohol with a sealed lid. Then, whenever your need them, just rinse them with water and use. Can you please add me to your contacts?|||shaving bumps are more common if you shave against the grain but they can still happen even if you do everything right. Waxing is a much better way of getting smooth, one of the main downsides of shaving is that it cuts off the hair halfway up the stalk, that leaves a spiky stubble in an area prone to a lot of friction. plus to stay smooth you have to shave often, if you have shaving bumps already it is easy to cut those accidentally.. plus i hate taking a razor blade anywhere near that part of my body...

waxing tends to last over a month and when hair does begin to emerge again it is 'new hair' which is soft and not "stubbly". it's also thinner and the 'roots' aren't as well established so if you wax regularly it is nowhere near as painful as the first time.

i would recommend having a professional do the waxing the first few times, watch them carefully and pay attention to their technique before trying to do it on your own. you will save yourself a good deal of pain and frustration.

If you do take the advise above (about Nair) make certain you use a formula designed for the bikini area - hair removal/depilatory creams are very harsh and can cause chemical burns or allergic reactions if used on the bikini area - the normal Nair formula is not intended for the bikini zone - be careful and read the labels -|||Used Nair on the places you what it on,like put line on the hair an wipe off that spot.|||to eliminate said bumps you send a pic to me

Any advice?|||you can use anything|||You should not be shaving your crotch if you're too embarrassed to buy razors that have 'female' stamped on it.

If you do change your mind..Venus razors are excellent...and you can always try to go to a website and get a free one sent to you..some of them do promotional samples. You can use an electric razor or hair clippers to trim it down as low as you can...and always shave down first, then up.
