How do you get rid of razor bumps on the thighs quickly?
I've been having razor bumps on my thighs for a while now and I've been washing my legs and nothing is happening. I would love to have soft skin on my thighs.|||You could maybe try body exfoliator and moisturizer.

How can i get rid of razor burn on my legs?
After I shave my legs I get really bad razor burn, I lotion them every night with Avon's Skin So Soft. But that's not working!|||When you shave your legs, make sure to use shaving cream, or soap!
don't use a 1-2 blade razor, they're usually made cheap, and since there's only 2 blades, it would mean you would to go over the spot more frequently. Choose a 3-5 one, shaves the hair in just one stroke. Once you're done, rinse off the remaining shaving cream/soap dry them and put a good moisturizing lotion. try nivea deep mosturizer. its' really good. or even a lotion by vaseline, i use the one with cocoa butter in it. it smells like chocolate and it makes your skin glow !

How can you get rid of razor burn from bikini area? I always seem to get irritated down there.|||There is a great product called Bikini Zone that I get at Wal-Mart or the drug store and they sell it in the Shaving Cream/Nair area. They have a shave gel also made by Bikini Zone that is really super moisturizing and slippery that keeps you from getting the razor bumps and burn. The Bikini Zone gel and cream numb the area a little and help the irritation go away fast. They're not expensive at all and they work really well for sensitive skin!
Make sure you're waiting for the hair in the area to be totally soaked with water to soften it, and use something really moisturizing not just soap when you shave and that will help you prevent getting it at all. I always get razor burn and some ingrown hairs on the backs and inside of my thighs and on the side of my bikini line. To be honest, it gets itchy and I scratch at it so that doesn't help but even when I don't scratch I still get the burn and ingrown hairs. I am always sure to use a good Venus razor bc it has the moursturizing strip and I use sensitive skin Aveeno shaving cream. I still don't know what to do! Help?|||Try using the creams like Nair instead of shaving. I find that it lasts 3-4 weeks without having to do it over and over. And. finally, the awful smell is gone!|||Keep the Aveeno shaving cream, but ditch the venus razor.

When you wax, it pulls the entire hair out by the root, and when it grows back in, it grows in from the more tapered end first, and helps it get through. I always have trouble telling when a disposable razor is sharp enough to keep for another shave. Is there a method/technique for this? I hate getting razor burn!|||You just have to test the razor to know if it's still sharp enough or time to pitch it. Just run it up your legs once, and if it hurts or cuts your leg then it's dull and get out a new one. I change my blade when I notice I'm not getting a close shave anymore, or when it seems to grow out too quickly, like I'm getting nubs by the end of the day, or by the next morning.
Women's razors and men's are a lot different so I can't help you with the number of blades and so on. My husband uses an electric most days, and my 18 year old son doesn't shave at all, just lets it grow.

I get bad razor burn each time I shave especially by my "bikini line" and my stomich. I hate body hair, so I'm looking for some good answers that may help this problem.|||The most appropriate time to shave is when taking a bath. Use luke warm water to open skin pores and soften hairs. Then apply a shaving cream. Use razor with lubricating strips. Shave it gently and carefully. Wash areas with facial soaps which is not harsh to the skin. Then apply a body moisturizer to smoothen the skin. You can try trimming instead of shaving. I do not know if it is advised but women do these hair removal using wax. Bikini wax? Which reminds me of the 40 year old virgin movie.

What is the best way to prevent razor burn, ingrown hairs, and irritation on super sensitive legs?
My skin is really really sensitive. When I was younger shaving would cause me to get lots of infected hair follicules which looked like large zits. Now I've learned to manage it a little better. I use a razor for sensitive legs, I soak in the tub before I shave, I use Aveeno shave gel that is supposed to prevent inflamation and irritation. How can I prevent razor burn around my bikini line?
I want a smooth skin area around my bikini line, but seem to get the worst razor burn about a day after shaving. Any suggestions? I've thought about using Nair or something similiar, but I don't know where to start.|||i would recommend getting a wax and then using a bikini line cream afterward. i never get red bumps when i get a wax. it definitley hurts more but it is more effective and last longer.|||Try rubbing a little hydrogen peroxide on the area to clean it before you shave and afterwards try hydrocortisone cream to prevent the razor burn. Also, exfoliating that area will keep ingrowns from happening.|||Bikini Zone has a line of products specifically for that area. Their shaving products help reduce razor burn and after shaving products relieve burn, irritation and bumps within a day.|||wax|||I would wax it. From experience nair is not that good , maybe worse than shaving and it smells terriable. You can wax yourself at home and then use an after wax cream that would come with the kit or seperate. What kind of razor should I get to shave my penis?

Do you really want stinky-ball smell on the razor that you use around your mouth? Stinky-ball mouth? Don't be cheap, get a new razor. I would say use a regular old razor, lots of shaving cream, and go slowly.|||I assume you're actually shaving your testicles? You might want to buy a depilatory (hair removal) cream instead, it's not sharp and you can get into the creases better. Just make sure you follow the directions on the packet and don't leave it on too long. I wouldn't recommend using your face razor on your privates, the skin downstairs is more delicate than the rougher skin on your face and you don't want any little nicks or cuts on those parts.|||Well those answers were unhelpful. It's a shame that the first responses have been trite and ill considered. C'mon people! This is obviously someone who's really wondering the best way to do it. Let's not ruin his first experience.
Now the problem with coventional razors is that the blades are just too narrow. Pubic hair is quite thick and wiry. It clogs those little razors far too quickly (especially those double, triple, quadruple and quintuple blades!). Additionaly the ball sack is so wrinkly, it's really tough to get a nice, close shave. The only thing worse than an unshaved sack is a stubble sack. Gross!
I've been through all this before, and I'm glad that you can learn from my escapades and hospital attendances. The best and only way to shave your balls is with alcohol and a three foot (at least) samurai sword.
Just don't do it sober.|||I personally wouldn't use the same one on my face as I would my genitals for 2 reasons. 1 I just think its unsanitary and 2 I like a sharp new razor for shaving down there. It is a bit smoother and less painfull with a sharp and new blade than a dull one. One thing you NEED to get though is a shaving gel for EXTRA SENSITIVE SKIN, it makes a world of difference trust me. I use a set of buzzers with a #2 or #3 guard to trim close the rest. One thing that can prevent them is shaving in the direction your hair grows. Also, before you shave very gently exfoliate the area you are about to shave. This gets all the dirt and dry skin away. Then, afterards use a cream that reduces razor bumps for your bikini area. Sallee Hansen has some good products for it but if you don't want to spend the cash, I've found that baby oil works well too.|||My husband uses a product called Nel's Smootherskin. I saw how nice his face was and decided to try it. To my surprise it worked. No more razor bumps and it cleared up my skin too! |||First, you'll need to stand in the shower for 10-15 minutes before shaving so that the steam from the hot water can open up pores and soften your skin and the hair, which will allow the razor to glide easier. Next, you'll need a sharp razor...I like to use a men's 3-razor blade razor, which gets close to the skin. After you've waited 10-15 minutes, wash the area with hot water, then apply a generous amount of shaving cream. Then, go ahead and shave slowly in the opposite direction of hair to get the smoothest shave. Some recommend to shave in the same direction that hair grows to prevent bumps, but you won't get a close shave. As long as you wait 10-15 minutes before shaving, you shouldn't have a problem. After you shave, rinse well with warm or cool water, not hot, which can irritate freshly shaved skin. And remember to toss the razor every 2 weeks.|||Mix baby oil in with the shaving cream. Razor bumps/burns happen from there not being enough moisture while shaving and/or shaving too hard/fast. You may wanna try slowing down and being a bit more gentle. Take your time and keep the area moisturized and constantly under water or something. If this doesnt work, you may consider using a wax or hair removal lotion (Veet, Nair, etc)|||Put lotion on the area, and then shave in little bity bityy strokes (not long ones) it works for me. make that the first thing you do when you take a shower though, because if you bleed a little bit from a razor burn, then it'll stop by the time you're done shampooing, conditioning, body wash, face, ect..|||Moisturize, shave w/ the growth not against it, you are always going to get a few, thats what happen when elastic bands rub a spot formerly protected w/ hair.|||Bikini Zone is the product you need to keep those red bumps away.

|||First, you'll need to stand in the shower for 10-15 minutes before shaving so that the steam from the hot water can open up pores and soften your skin and the hair, which will allow the razor to glide easier. Next, you'll need a sharp razor...I like to use a men's 3-razor blade razor, which gets close to the skin. After you've waited 10-15 minutes, wash the area with hot water, then apply a generous amount of shaving cream. Then, go ahead and shave slowly in the opposite direction of hair to get the smoothest shave. Some recommend to shave in the same direction that hair grows to prevent bumps, but you won't get a close shave. As long as you wait 10-15 minutes before shaving, you shouldn't have a problem. After you shave, rinse well with warm or cool water, not hot, which can irritate freshly shaved skin. And remember to toss the razor every 2 weeks.|||Mix baby oil in with the shaving cream. Razor bumps/burns happen from there not being enough moisture while shaving and/or shaving too hard/fast. You may wanna try slowing down and being a bit more gentle. Take your time and keep the area moisturized and constantly under water or something. What is the best razor to buy for shaving?
I have to shave everyday for the police academy and they even want us to shave before physical training which means 2 times a day 2 days a wk. hopefully my shave in the morning will be so good i wont have to shave again. Lastly, how curly is his hair?
the curlier his hair the likely he is to get ingrown hairs, and the harder they'll be to remove. basically, with curly hair, when he shaves the hair entirely off, when it grows back, it curls right back into the skin. recommend not shaving it all off, just down to about a fraction of an inch. that way, its already out of the skin and cant grow back into it.

How long should I keep my razor blades to avoid necrotizing fasciitis?
I have a Venus razor and the blades hardly ever get dull because my hairs are thin. The blades I have on are probably several months to a year old, but there's no rust on them and they work just fine. But last night I saw this show called "1000 Ways to Die", and this woman cut herself with an old razor blade where a flesh eating virus was growing and it killed her. So how often should I change my blades, or how can I keep them sterile because they're kind of expensive.|||Trust me, you're not going to get a flesh eating virus. Even so, if you want to sterilize them, and you should, just keep them in a cup of rubbing alcohol with a sealed lid. Then, whenever your need them, just rinse them with water and use. Just make sure to clean them and put them back in.

Well, I watch TV and movies a lot, and I've noticed that whenever someone cuts their wrist or something, they have a huge-*** razor blade thats easy to hold without cutting your fingers. Yet, whenever I look at any shaving razors or even pencil sharpeners, none of them are that big. Where are they getting all of these?
P.S. I'm not planning on cutting my wrists or anything, its just when I think about something, I can't forget.|||They do make huge ones like that for box cutters.

And since I've never shaved before (I'm going to buy my first razor soon), when people say you have to change your blade or whatever, does that mean you buy a whole new razor again?|||there are razors that have retractable blades and you just buy a pack of like 4 new blades, but it does get expensive because u have to buy the razor and then keep have to buy more blades . i usually just buy a back of razors at the dollar store and i usually get 3 or 4 bladed ones.|||I hope you mean your arm pits and not your actual arm, I tried shaving my arms when I was a kid b/c everybody else did, big mistake. It just grows back tougher and darker.
But anyways I have tried many different razors over the past 10 years and so far, I have only found 4 that I really like.

Disposable razors you throw away. Reusable razors you just throw the blade away, not the whole razor, and replace it. All good razors cost money. If you find something really cheap, chances are it sucks. The more expensive razors usually last longer or do a better job. Good Luck!

Gillette SensorExcel for women (about $2 per replacement blade)
Gillette Fusion for men (about $3 per replacement blade)
Gillette Mach 3 for men (about $2 per replacemnt blade)
The other is a disposable Schick razor for men. I am not sure of the name, it is black with a teal grip. (about $1.50 per razor)
Disposable razors you throw away. Reusable razors you just throw the blade away, not the whole razor, and replace it. All good razors cost money. If you find something really cheap, chances are it sucks. The more expensive razors usually last longer or do a better job. Good Luck!

How to get rid of razor bumps in between my thighs and on the backs of my thighs?
I have tried almost everything. I change my razor frequently. Use shaving cream for sensitive skin and use lots of water. Moisturize, exfoliate. NOTHING WORKS! How do I avoid razor burn and cutting myself when shaving my upper lip?
I use a sharp razor, hot water before and cold water after and I use aftershave, but I still get bad razor burn when I shave (only on my upper lip though). I do shave against the grain, but otherwise I don't get a clean shave, any advice?|||Stop using shaving soap, or shaving gel or shaving cream. Switch to using Baby Oil instead. It will give you a close, smooth shave w/no razor burn. It will also make your blades last longer. DON"T bare down so hard on the razor! It only takes a LIGHT touch!

I think I may be using it too long before changing it. We are running low on money right now and the razors we have been using have very expensive blades. The are gillette razors and a box of like 7 is over ten dollars. I bought some disposable razors and they tore my legs to pieces. I once had a venus razor, but stopped using it for some reason. I don't remember if it was because it didn't work well or the blades were expensive. I have very thick hair so I need something that is going to work well.
