How do you prevent getting razor bumps after you shave?

How do you prevent getting razor bumps after you shave? Especially in the bikini line area.|||after you shave, rub Johnson Baby Oil Gel on|||people say use shaving cream, even when i used alot i got so many. but i learned it was from cheap razors. so spend some money on a good razor for 10 bucks the most. i stopped getting bumps, because the cheap ones cause them.|||I read in a magazine and it said to go down with the grain of hair instead of against.....|||Yeah, shaving in the opposite direction of hair growth causes irritation, even though it sometimes feels smoother that way -- in a few days, the bumps will come!

I always make sure I very lightly (and gently) exfoliate after shaving, then exfoliate harder as the hair starts to grow; ingrown hairs have no way to get out of the skin, and getting rid of as much dead skin as you can will help prevent them.

Give waxing a shot. Even if you only do it one time, your hair will be easier to shave when it grows back.|||It's always best to shave in a shower, perferaly a warm one since it opens up your pores and makes for a much smoother shave. It also helps to lather on liquid soap and use that instead of a shaving cream. You can also use conditioner, which makes your legs extra silkey :) Razor burns are mostly caused by shaving dry, so try to avoid that at all cause.

And if you do get razor burns, wait atleast 15 minutes before lathering on unscented lotion. It will help ease the burn. But don't use scented lotion because you'll only make the burning sensation worse and last longer. Hope this helped :)
